Terrain

Description

The module Terrain is fully integrated into EliteCAD, is depicted associatively in floor plans and sections and can be purchased as optional extra.

The module is used for planning structural and civil engineering and in the spatial landscape planning.
A three-dimensional terrain is generated by interpreting points in space and curves. This terrain can be modelled and supplemented with roads, retaining walls, points and excavation volume. The software provides the relevant cubic changes. The terrain is displayed logically in floor plans, views and sections and provides the excavation plan.

Data basis

Transferring and adopting parameters
The terrain module interprets ASCII data with different formats, Interlis and Shape files by converting them into a 3D design model. Vectorial data such as DXF/DWG can be used from a reference drawing for transferring cadastral data.

Functionality

3d modell
A three-dimensional terrain is formed based on the points, curves or point files entered. The terrain module can be modelled by manipulating all three dimensions of points and curves. By entering the limit of the piece of land, the terrain is reduced to this size.

Especially steep slopes and even points can be modelled with terrain edges/surfaces. Roads are defined with associated slopes or excavations based on polygons or spline curves.
An excavation is defined by entering the outline of an excavation, its slope angles and the floor with gradient respectively by defining a subtraction body. The excavation provides volumes and an associated excavation plan.

Presentation

Terrain presentation
For an effective presentation, the terrain can be equipped with textures and NCS/RAL colours. Library parts of plants and people can be dragged onto the terrain and are automatically aligned to the surface. Height curves are labelled automatically, are depicted as curves in the floor plan and can also be depicted spatially in the 3D design model, which offers an optimal orientation basis in the design model and for views.
